Coarse flake graphite ore
This type of ore is characterized by large  flake graphite and good floatability. The primary graphite particle size is generally 0.6-2 mm, the content is 1%-10%, and it contains a certain amount of mica. The beneficiation is mainly to protect the large scales, and the grade of the concentrate is controlled at about 87% or even higher, in order to improve the yield of the large scales, and the final concentrate +80 mesh content is 40% to 60%.
 
Medium-scale flake graphite ore
The flake graphite of this type of ore are medium in size and have good floatability. The primary graphite particle size is 0.2 to 0.6 mm, the content is 4% to 15%, and the mica content is low. The graphite flakes are still mainly protected, and the yield of large flakes is maximized. The grade of concentrate can be controlled at 86%~90%, and the content of +100 mesh is at 40%~60%.
 
Fine flake graphite ore
The  flake graphite of this type of ore are small and have medium floatability. The primary graphite particle size is 0.03~0.2 mm and the content is 6%~15%. The product is focused on improving the purity, but the large flakes should also be protected, so that the recovery rate can be appropriately reduced. The grade of concentrate is generally around 90%, some are as high as 98%, and the content of +100 mesh is between 5% and 20%. This type of ore should strengthen the beneficiation process, and the beneficiation adopts a multi-stage grinding and multi-stage separation process.
 
Cryptocrystalline graphite ore
The crystal grain size of cryptocrystalline graphite is usually less than 1 μm. Therefore, it is often difficult to have a significant effect to improve the concentrate grade by flotation. At present, the amount of cryptocrystalline graphite mined in China is not large, and the method of manual selection is usually used to obtain higher-grade graphite concentrate.
